Public Health Laboratory
This is one of the oldest facilities in the department. It is manned by a laboratory technologist. The laboratory has basic equipments such as microscopes, haemoglobinometer, centrifuge and other accessories. The laboratory provides investigative and diagnostic services during community diagnosis, and community based research. There are 2 additional laboratories one each at the model comprehensive health centres run by the department. They provide basic services to clients attending general morbidity, clinic, antenatal care and child welfare clinics. In addition the resident doctors use it to learn and improve on their basic public health laboratory knowledge and skills.
